Nola's Iris Farm

My parents had plans to drive up into the foothills and visit a local iris farm with my grandparents (my grandmother used to grow irises for several years and loves them).  Since I didn't have any plans for the boys, I decided to join them while Jon was at rugby practice (he met up with us after he was done).

It was an absolutely gorgeous day with rows upon rows of beautiful blooms. The boys picnic'd at a nearby table in the shade of an olive tree, and visited the farm's chickens, horses and calf. But probably the most fun for them was just walking around and digging in/exploring the dirt. ;-)

All in all, a great day!

Norway Day

Yes, we went to Norway Day on Cinco de Mayo! ;-)

We had agreed to volunteer at the Norwegian Elkhound booth for a few hours today. The boys were restless most of the day but they DID enjoy the kids area, complete with bouncy house and area to paint pots and pot some flowers. :)

Logan has been super interested in gardening lately so this was absolutely perfect! (Logan's pot is the one on the left - hard to tell from this angle but he painted his name on it)

Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Smiley Lions

I always chose a dolphin to answer this question.

Penmanship

My four year old's penmanship is better than my husband's. ;-)

I think it's funny that Logan wrote 'cat' in all caps even though the tracing was in lowercase. I've noticed he sometimes switches like that when we work on his homework too.

Organized

Every morning I fight to untangle some piece of jewelry, starting my day off crankier than I should.... but not any more!

Look out world, this mama is one step closer to halfway organizing her life. ;-)
