Look who wants to be a big boy!

Callum has been more and more interested in using utensils himself so I let him test out a spork tonight. He didn't do that bad, actually! :)

Paella!

End of (fiscal) year lunch at work today. Delicious!! :)

"Robots are sneaky"

The title of this post is Jon's favorite Loganism to date. ;-)

Thanks to Kimmy for the awesome recommendation on this vendor!

Cars 2

My parents are watching Callum so we can take Logan to see Cars 2. He has been waiting for weeks to see it and is VERY excited. ;-)

Holy smokes!

So it turns out at least part of the reason why Callum has been such a slobbery cranky mess is because he had five (as in, one - two - three - four - FIVE!) teeth coming in at once. At least, that's how many I've counted while sliding my finger quickly around inside his mouth, while he clamps down on it - since he won't actually open his mouth up for me or allow me to inspect it for more than 3 seconds. It appears to be three lower teeth (two molars! and another front tooth) plus two upper teeth (I believe one is a molar but I could be off).

INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE.

Now that those five teeth have broken through, he seems to be doing a little better and his nose is not NEARLY as runny all the time. Hopefully that means we'll get a small reprieve before the rest of his teeth move in and take over. ;-)

Happy Father's Day!

Having carrot cake to top off a great day with Daddy. :)

Growing so fast!

Callum's waving "hi" with his big ol' honkin' new shoes (he now wears size 6 and Logan wears size 10!!).

I foresee broken bones in this boy's future

He's trying to use a (small with wheels) toy to climb up onto the dog crate. *sigh*

I see a naked baby!

Summertime

Short hair and wacky faces for the camera.

Organizing my closet

I've always intended to "photo catalog" my shoes but never got around to it. Just finished the majority of my collection and so happy with the results! :)

Loganism of the day

Seeing he got several red marks on his chart today, I asked:
Logan, what were you bad at today?

Behavior.

Proud of his tattoos (his prize for behaving well at the dentist)

Logan's teeth look great (MUCH whiter looking, even though he's hiding and you can't tell in this pic). No cavities, but the spacing is a little tight so we need to start flossing every night.

And the cleaning begins!

Doing really well but also not quite sure what to think. ;-)

Waiting for the dentist

Excited to be at the dentist's office. :)

Waiting for Daddy

Hanging out at the airport with the boys, plane watching, waiting to pick up Jon. I'm pretty sure this is his plane.

(Logan says, I wish *I* was on that plane!)

Loganism of the day

Uh, Logan, those shoes don't match.

But I want to mix it up [today]!

And here's my other view...

Round Table to the rescue!

I'm fighting a nasty headache and didn't feel like cooking tonight. Logan asked if we could eat out on the front porch (the weather is gorgeous!), so who am I to refuse a request like that? :)

"Sorry"

Logan owed an apology to Callum so part of that included a big hug that Callum decided he had to get away from. Meanwhile, Logan insisted I take a picture of them hugging (which turned into tackling, as you can see).

What I like most from this shot is how much they're starting to look more and more like each other.

Playing with Legos

A little blurry but hopefully you can see  Logan's airplane with "shooters" on it. Lately Logan has really enjoyed imaginative play with his Legos. He's usually making a rocket, robot or airplane but actually getting pretty good at it.

From a toddler's perspective

Me: Do you know where Daddy's going?

Logan: To the airport!

Me: What's he going to do?

Logan: He's going to fly to the hotel.

Me: How long will he be gone?

Logan: For a few minutes.

Dental Hygiene

We've been much better about making sure Logan brushes his teeth before bed each night. His first teeth cleaning appt is next week, so we'll see if the extra diligence is paying off. ;-)

My two boys

It took a lot of coaxing to get Logan to stand still for a micro second. Of course, then Callum doesn't smile. Oh well.

This time with flash!

Playing with my new phone

Still getting used to this new phone (I switched from an iPhone to a Win7 phone today - eeps!). It's not too bad but we'll see how long I last. ;-)

A universal sign

Fitness time

Logan picked up these weights and proclaimed "I need to do my exercising" very matter of factly. Pretty cute. :)

Loganism of the day

You know?  I do like giant blankets.  I don't like tiny blankets.

Sicky

Poor Callum. Not sure if he has the bug I was fighting earlier this week/weekend, but he's feeling pretty bad this evening (I took this pic this morning when he wasn't showing any signs of fever and vomiting that he's got now). What's worse, he can't return to school tomorrow because of the fever, Jon is out of town and I've got a very important all day meeting tomorrow that I can't miss. :(

So, we're doing the best we can. Jon's taking an earlier flight home (he'll get home a little after 11am) and then I'll go into work late, once he gets home to take over. Thank goodness we both have flexible and understanding employers!

Loganism of the day

Logan, Callum and I dropped Jon off at the airport this morning on our way to school.  As Jon got out of the car, Logan looked up and asked why no one was unbuckling him and letting him out of the car.  I told him he wasn't getting out - we were just dropping Daddy off at the airport and he should say goodbye.

As he waved goodbye to Jon, he turned to me and said:

But Mama, I would LOVE to ride an airplane....

I know Buddy.  Hopefully we can ride an airplane soon - maybe even a very LONG airplane ride to see Daddy next month.

You mean, like to Hawaii?

Even longer.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jon is traveling every week this month and possibly several weeks (in a row) next month.  It's going to be a long summer.  The only saving grace for me, is that we may get to join him for one of his trips next month.  And, it's the only saving grace I can give to Logan as well.
Someone wants his milk!
A few minutes after the previous climbing incident, I turned around again, this time to spot Callum climbing on top of the kitchen (rolling!) stool to get to his milk. Notice the tired unhappy face. I put him to bed right after this, not to worry.
My kitchen helper
I was washing dishes this evening, looked down and noticed this little monkey trying to stand inside the dishwasher.
