Framing the school pics

I've been looking for a nice frame that would allow me to capture each
school year pic all in one frame, but everything I found I either
didn't like (the style) or it cost more than I was willing to pay for.

Then! I stumbled upon these simple frames, which is exactly what I've
been looking for *and* at an inexpensive price! Even better, Michael's
was having a 60% off sale on select frames and wouldn't you know my
luck?! I snagged these babies on the super cheap with hardly a
thought. ;-)

Since they're meant to capture Kinder thru Senior year, and we only
have one Kinder pic so far between the two boys, the frames looked
pretty naked. So for now, I've filled them with their preschool pics,
which still leaves them a bit bare, but not *as* bad. ;-)

Nothing like coffee and fresh donuts on a Sunday morning!

Brownie and Bar Exchange Party

I'm headed to a Brownie and Bar Exchange party today. If you haven't
been to one of these, you basically choose your favorite recipe (or a
new one if you're bold like me) ;-) to share with your friends at the
party. You make either half a dozen or a full dozen PER PERSON
attending the party and print outs of the recipe of course.

Then, you exchange! And go home with a variety of goodies that
everyone has made. This party will also have an ornament exchange too!
So I had to get one of those to wrap and bring as well....

All of this is per instruction by the hosts, which they'll send out
roughly a week prior so you know how many people to bake for. In this
case, we have 14 people at half a dozen each. You don't make one for
yourself of course but you DO make an extra batch for everyone to try
out at the party. Because I was doing batches of 2 dozen, that was 8
dozen total I had to bake this weekend! (And 12 dozen total if you
count the batch I did last weekend as my "dry run" to test out the
recipe!). Phew!!!

I also decided to do more than usual work in packaging each half dozen
up and hand writing the recipes. I had fun coming up with the ideas
and putting it all together but dang! It was a lot. I may decide to go
a simpler/easier route next time. :)

It's a TON of work and a TON of sugar that we all could do without.
;-) But, I like going for the social aspect of it, since we all sit
around and catch up on life, families, work, holidays, etc. for a few
hours (and no kids - woohoo!).

Since I have extra, and I'll be coming home with a load more from the
party, I will definitely be sending Jon with a box full of sweets to
work tomorrow. ;-)

Kindergarten School Pic

I really love Logan's school pic - and I can't begin to explain to you how much it made my day seeing them when I picked him up from school yesterday.

But, man.  Where, oh where, did my little kid go?!?

Home Sick

Poor guy caught the bug I've been fighting this last week. :( So, I'm
home with him today.

Set him up with a movie while I ran a call in the office.... came back
out to this. :)

Thankful Turkeys

Each feather represents a day of the month leading up to Thanksgiving,
where the boys write down something they're thankful for.

I wasn't sure whether they'd like this project or not, but it has
turned out to be a big hit. :)

Hello Fall!

I don't really decorate anything for the fall (or Thanksgiving) but
the craft store had some good discounts so I put together a little
floral arrangement for the entrance. Nothing fancy but I like how it
turned out. :)

And just like that, Halloween is over!

I may have a slight problem with how many Halloween decorations I'm
starting to own. ;-)
