Sicky

Poor Callum. Not sure if he has the bug I was fighting earlier this week/weekend, but he's feeling pretty bad this evening (I took this pic this morning when he wasn't showing any signs of fever and vomiting that he's got now). What's worse, he can't return to school tomorrow because of the fever, Jon is out of town and I've got a very important all day meeting tomorrow that I can't miss. :(

So, we're doing the best we can. Jon's taking an earlier flight home (he'll get home a little after 11am) and then I'll go into work late, once he gets home to take over. Thank goodness we both have flexible and understanding employers!

Someone wants his milk!

A few minutes after the previous climbing incident, I turned around again, this time to spot Callum climbing on top of the kitchen (rolling!) stool to get to his milk. Notice the tired unhappy face. I put him to bed right after this, not to worry.

I was washing dishes this evening, looked down and noticed this little monkey trying to stand inside the dishwasher.

12 month checkup

I almost forgot to mention Callum's checkup, which we actually did on his birthday! Poor guy got THREE shots and a finger prick, which all made for a grumpy birthday boy. :(

He's doing great - ears look fantastic. Doc is pleased with his walking and balance and overall very strong and stout physique. He's still trending pretty tall, at 31" (90%). He weighs 22lbs, 8oz (50-60%) and his head is 47.25cm round (65%). His iron levels also checked out just fine. All in all, a beautiful, healthy, happy baby (who hates shots). No surprise there! ;-)

Now looking forward to seeing our boys. (if we ever get home - the drive down the coast is VERY slow going right now...)

Beach Rock Candle

I took this pic solely for my mom. She used to collect these rocks on the beach when we were kids. Here, they've hollowed out holes and turned them into candles. :)

Cuteness

Sent to me last night but just got this morning. Adorable!

Water Bottles

We also have these cool stainless steel water bottles to use during our hikes (and to take home with us!). Sadly, we haven't been able to get out as much as I would have liked. We did have a nice walk around the property in the morning, but it started storming really bad in the afternoon. It's quite a fantastic storm - I think being this close to the ocean makes it much more intense.

So instead, we hunkered down in our cabin, reading books by the fire and getting massages in the afternoon while the wind howled and whistled madly outside. Pretty phenomenal! And not a bad way to spend our day at all. :)
