Last week of school!

Ladera Progressive 2018

This past weekend, the adults of our neighborhood had a fun "end of school year" Mardi Gras themed progressive party where we walk from house to house (fundraiser for the school) for drinks, dinner and dessert.

It was actually a ridiculously hot day/evening, but we had fun nonetheless! Nice to catch up with everyone before the summer fun hits us all. :)

The first pic here is hard to see, but I hung my beaded "chandeliers" (the ones I posted about making, a couple of weeks ago) in the tree as everyone walked in, for drinks and hors d'oeuvres! They looked pretty neat, if I do say so myself. :)

End of school countdown

Once a musician, always a musician?

That time I pulled out my music stand - from the 4th grade - to help my 4th grader practice for his music class test. 😂

(I also pulled out my flute and played along with him...!) 

A keepsake for the kids

Just finished making these "bucket filler" bookmarks for all the kids in Logan's class. I'll set them out on their desks, to surprise them at their Open House tomorrow night. It's meant to be a keepsake for the kids, from a series of Project Cornerstone lessons I've been teaching (with another parent) in class all year long. 

The theme this year was empathy. And the stuff that these kids come up with, to say about each other, is simply amazing. 

We are in great hands, with this next generation. ❤️

Goal!

Today was Callum's turn at the stage! His class performed a musical called "Goal" and they did a really impressive job!

Callum was all over the place with his many roles - first at the door, welcoming parents and passing out programs, then at the back of the auditorium controlling the lights to light up the stage (!!), then onstage playing the role of "Michael", an enthusiastic soccer player and then later as "Whiney Kid #3", a - you guessed it - whiney team player! ;-)

He did great, and so did everyone else! What a fun afternoon.
