I met with both of the boys' teachers this last week to hear how things are going in school. They're both bright kids but of course, have a few things they need to work on. I feel like saying "you're preaching to the choir lady" anytime I go to these damn meetings. Nothing they tell me is a mind blowing surprise or anything. :)
Interestingly, Callum's teacher decided to have the kids present at their own conference, so I got to also listen to Callum's self-assessment and question him directly too! I loved his "reflection" paper (that he was reading off of in the meeting) and had to share here.
When he said he needs to work on talking a little less - I said, "hmmm, what a surprise!"
And he said, "What? How is that a surprise? I talk a lot!!"

A day in the life with boys
Overheard this morning:
"Callum, I'm serious! Stop!"
"Okay, I'm just going to rub my butt on the door."
🤔😂😂😂🤷🏻♀️
Happy Saturday y'all!

Stormy weather
Over an hour ago, the power blew out. Right after one of the most intense, and loudest, lightening/thunder cracks I've seen or heard. I'm pretty sure our house shook. The lights flickered off, then on, then off for good. Then the rain came pouring down, followed by pounding hail! It was pretty crazy!! I did a couple of laps around the perimeter to make sure our house was ok and nothing looked out of the ordinary.
One set of neighbors next to us also don't have power. But every other neighbor (including the ones on the other side of us) still have power! So who knows what happened. Everyone in the neighborhood confirms they also heard the loud boom - so it wasn't just me imagining things.
Callum's home sick today. He played on his iPad for a bit but I decided he should read a little since "it's still light now, and who knows when we'll get our power back on..." ;-) Luckily for me, he didn't argue!
