Callumism of the month

I haven't done one of these in awhile but tonight was pretty precious. Callum was talking to his grandmother Mimi on the phone.

She asked him what he'd like for his birthday, and I held my breath hoping he wouldn't sputter out the top 5 toys he has recently seen on YouTube (yet will not play with after the first 20 minutes!)

Instead, he said, "whatever you think I would like."

I basically felt like that was the ultimate proud-Mom mic-drop moment. My work is done! 😉

I had another proud mom moment earlier today. Logan's teacher has challenged his class to no screens (that means not only no texting or video games or laptop games, but no tv or movies too!) for the entire month of April. I'm happy to report that we are doing great so far!! Today is the first day of spring break, so we hung out at the library for a bit this morning. What a sight, to see these two devouring new books we just picked up!! :)

This was the last egg that stumped them for quite a long time.

They passed by the tree so many times and then stood there (when I told them to) for at least 30 seconds, before Logan finally spotted it. :)

Egg Hunt Time!

Two years ago, we had our first Easter egg hunt at this house. But, the boys don't remember it because it was extremely short lived and two weeks after Easter actually happened. Why so late? Because Callum (and I) were stuck at the hospital over Easter two years ago. And THAT is what Logan actually remembers (Callum didn't at first but then remembered he got a basket surprise overnight while at the hospital).

Then last year, we missed Easter completely, since we were traveling/celebrating Callum's Make-A-Wish trip to Disneyworld. (The Easter bunny left them some presents which were waiting for them when we got home, but they don't remember that, and we didn't do any egg hunts because we were so dang tired from the trip!) :)

This year, Easter snuck up on me and I was completely unprepared. But, Callum (in particular) wanted to color eggs and do (many, many, many!) egg hunts. So, we colored eggs yesterday, Jon and I bought some candy at the last minute this morning and stuffed the plastic eggs, and we held several egg hunts throughout the day today.

We also finished a new (board) game we had started a couple of weeks ago. And played a mean round of Uno Attack!

Quite a nice day, all in all. Hope everyone had a lovely holiday weekend as well. :)
