(At a game store)
Mom, I really want this monster guy! (Showing me a pack of small toy figures)
Callum, this is for 14 year olds. The pieces are way too small and you'll break them.
But I'll be careful!
No, it's not a toy for little kids.
But 8 plus 6 is 14, so Logan and I can share and play together!
Sorry kid, it doesn't work like that.

Last Chemo LP
Today was a pretty big milestone for Callum. It was his 8th LP (during maintenance), which means it was his last chemo LP! (He'll have another LP at the end of treatment but they won't administer chemo, they'll just draw fluid out to test).
As you can see from the pics, he was a champ all the way through. Afterward, he had his regular Pentamidine (antibiotic/breathing) treatment, before we headed home.
Wow! It's been a little weird to wrap my head around the fact that we're nearly done. Exciting, but also weird. :)

And done!
One game down, many more to go. ;-)
Since we're having extensive work done in our backyard, we don't have anywhere to hold our annual piñata bashing event for Callum's birthday party this weekend.
So, I created a piñata replacement - a "punch box". The kids pick a hole, punch through and voila! A candy prize to enjoy. Hopefully they'll like it. We'll see how it goes!

The beginning of orthodontics
Our poor kids are likely going to be living at the orthodontist thru their pre-teen and teen years. I had pretty bad teeth as a kid, so started braces early on. Jon had work done later as an adult. So, I've always assumed we'd need to do something, and brought Logan in last year to begin observations.
A couple of his top front teeth have just recently grown in and are hitting behind his bottom teeth (vs the slight overlap you'd want to have). Because he's still too young to start anything serious, our orthodontist is going to start with a nighttime retainer to try and nudge those teeth out into place.
So, they took an impression this morning. I warned him it was an uncomfortable and awkward process but it would only take a minute to set and then he'd be done.
He struggled a little but overall did fantastic. Afterwards, he said to me,"That was the longest minute of my life!!" 😂😂

Kicking off the week with some crafting
Phew! I won't lie, cutting those holes out was actually a pain. My back is just a wee bit sore tonight. ;-)

Another game night
Yes, this has been THE weekend of family games, which means Logan has been in 7th Heaven.
I spent a few hours this afternoon, shopping for materials, to begin putting together Callum's upcoming birthday party. Because we just got back from the hospital I'm waaaaaay more behind the 8-ball this time, than my usual procrastination. And, he wants a Skylanders Birthday Party (read: hard for Mama!). *sigh*
When I got back, I was a little preoccupied with my party prep work and honestly, in no mood for another game, now that I'm realizing how much time the party prep is going to take and how much time I have left to do it in! Ack!!
But, Logan BEGGED, would I just play this (another new) game once with him and Dad? Pretty please?
Hrmmmm. How long will one game take?
Just 20 minutes! (It's straight forward and simple Jon promised).
Ok fine. One game only.
A competitive ~90 minutes later, and by the skin of his teeth, the little punk beat both of us at Machi Koro.
Watch out world. This kid is more ruthless than his Mom and Dad put together. ;-)
