Au revoir, Paris! ❤️ 👋🏼

We had to check out of our flat this morning but our train back to London didn’t leave until the late afternoon - so we stored our luggage at the train station and hiked on over to Montmartre once more to grab a last bit of ice cream, watch the local artists do their thang, and wander the streets. 😁

Jon has taught Logan how to play cribbage this trip so they played several games during our ride back to London. Meanwhile, Callum and I napped on and off😉

After we arrived in London, Callum turned to me and said “Mom - remember - these last two days are relaxing days! No more long walks or seeing churches!” 🤣🤷

We’re staying at the same little hotel that the boys and I stayed at the first couple of nights we were here - so they immediately knew where we were and where to go, as we showed up for check in, and later as we walked to a nearby pub for dinner.  Logan and I laughed at ourselves for saying “Pardon!” and “Merci!” so automatically around these parts. 🙊

A sculpture outside Gare du Nord called "Maison Fond" (or, the melting house), also a pun on the similar sounding "Mes enfants" (my children) - reminding us of the potential dangers of global warming (to both our life/future generations, as well as our infrastructure).

English as a second language

That time when Jonathan sounded like Jennifer... 🤣

Montmartre... and a show!

Our last full day in Paris! 😢 We headed up to Montmartre today, and decided to see if there were any tickets left for the evening show at Moulin Rouge. Aaaaand - score!

We walked the streets up to visit Sacré-Cœur, and then huffed and puffed our way up the dome to get a magnificent 360° view of the city! 👌🏼

(I should mention - on our way up, we stopped for another sweet pastry - because... Paris! As Logan was scarfing down his beignet, he said “These are so good, I don’t think I’ll be satisfied with American donuts anymore.”🤣🤣)

We spent a little downtime back at the apartment in the afternoon before heading back up for our evening show. We had great seats (I asked them to sit us close so our poor little small kids could see...😉) What a fun experience to end our trip to Paris!!

I'm *fairly* certain that this is the same little sandwich to-go joint I went to, when visiting Paris with my bestie Catherine, 20 years ago!!
