It's time!

End of year gifts!

I thought it'd be neat to use the jars from our recent juice cleanse, for gifts or some fun craft project, since they are so pretty.

Enter, End-of-Year Teacher Gift idea!!

Logan is graduating from Pre-K today; we will be attending the big graduation ceremony (that has been built up upon belief) later this afternoon.  Several of the parents chipped in for a gift card to give to each teacher but I decided to branch out and do something special from Logan.

So, I pulled up several ideas of what we could do with these jars and asked Logan to choose.  This wasn't on the list but we kept linking to other sites and stumbled upon one for monkey bread.  Logan immediately recognized it from the pic and decided that's what he wanted to make.  :)

And, he was very adamant that HE make them!!

So, here's a few pics from last night and this morning (after I wrapped them, that part he left to Mommy, once all the fun was done).  ;-)

Shake shake shake!!

Ready to pop in the oven....

All done!  Logan was curious about why the bread rose so much :)

All wrapped and pretty  :)

I think they came out pretty cute!  I don't know if they'll taste good, but hopefully they won't be too bad!  :)

Boys will be boys

I forgot to blog about it last night but poor Callum got to experience
a bee sting for the first (and hopefully last!) time. He slept in
super late this morning, which is unusual for him, perhaps because of
the excitement last night...

I'm sure I had more than one bee sting as a kid, but the one I will
never forget, was when I was playing barefoot on the playground
(because that's what kids did back then) and accidentally stepped on a
bee.

Damn, it hurt like hell.

But Callum's incident was far less innocent. Apparently (according to
Logan, I didn't see it), he stomped on the bee first.

And THEN, he decided to touch it.

Why? To make sure he killed it maybe? Who the heck knows.

I just know boys are so crazy different from girls most times. Girls
innocently skip around a playground, blissfully happy, basking in the
sun, swinging on the swings, then ouch!

Boys stomp and scream and throw and yell and crash and poke and
AHHHHHHH!!! MOMMMMMMMYYYY!!!! IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS!!!!

At least, that's how it plays in my mind. ;-)

I quickly pulled the stinger out and rubbed an ice pack on it for
awhile until I was sure it wasn't going to swell up and need a visit
to the ER. He promptly forgot all about it by the time we got home and
then, as you can see here, slept like a baby. :)

Mwah!

Another loose tooth!

I wonder if it'll fall out before Logan's (Pre-K) graduation on Friday. :)

Loganism of the day

Adding to the list of questions I'd prefer Jon to field (and my
parents never had to answer) is, "Mom, what is the Internet?"

Pleased as punch

Picked up a bike from the Mom's group, for Callum, this weekend.
Evidence of another happy customer. ;-)

I realized I haven't blogged as much lately. It's been a little busy
at home - Eric just moved up to the Bay Area last weekend and has been
staying with us while looking for a place to move into (and then move
Jill and the kids up next!). We are so excited to have our best
friends back in the area - it only took ~10 yrs of nagging before we
finally convinced them!! ;-)

Today we spent the morning lounging around, then went out to
breakfast, then had the boys ride around on their bikes a few times to
get a bit of energy out, all before Jon and Eric caught their flight
to NOLA (they'll be gone all week).

And also all before noon! I think the afternoon will be a little more
relaxed. ;-)
