It's that time of year again! I crack up every time I look at these pics, my boys are so full of character, even posed like this (or maybe it's the poses that bring out their character?). This year, I had one done with the two of them together too. I love how they all turned out. Hope you do too!
I actually got these shirts for Jon (and the boys) for Father's day, but totally missed out on grabbing a picture of the three of them (it was one of those, everyone is cranky and we don't want to deal with crazy Mom and her photo snapping, times).
At any rate, I've been wanting to get the three of them together and what better excuse than Jon leaving this morning for his trip to London (and hey whaddya know, the shirts are even themed!) He'll be gone for the next 8 days, and we'll sorely miss him.
I made the last of my long stress-free and work-free holiday weekend by catching up on a number of pics I have been wanting to post. Visit the links below for the complete albums - Enjoy!! :)
I just scanned Logan and Callum's class pictures, which they took at school a couple of weeks ago. I decided to skip the individual pics since we have been doing those in the spring time, and I didn't really see any reason to do them twice a year.
The two boys to the right and left of Callum (also in the teachers' laps) are the younger brothers of two of Logan's friends! It's been kind of cool to see Logan and his buddies grow up from the infant class to preschool class together, and now we get to see it all over again with the younger brothers too. :)
This past Memorial Day weekend our good dear friends Eric and Jill (you know the ones, the friends who were willing to travel to New Zealand with us, with a 9 month old baby, even when they didn't have any children of their own) came to visit. They brought their daughter, Amelia, (now 8 months old) along for the ride and it was so much fun to see how much she's grown since the last time we saw her!
As I mentioned in a previous post, I was naked without camera all weekend long. I realized toward the end of their visit that we DID still have our smaller camera, so we got a couple quick shots with that camera before they left. But, overall, we were sans pictures for the weekend.
Nonetheless, we had a terrific visit.
Jill held the baby from time to time to give me a break. It was glorious.
Jon held the baby from time to time while Eric looked on. It was glorious.
Jill and I pampered ourselves to a relaxing and much needed pedicure. It was glorious.
Amelia laughed like she's never laughed before, because she's never seen big crazy furry hyper dogs before.
She also spent most of her time doing laps around the train table - walking only in one direction, just like Logan did at that age! :)
Logan wasn't so keen on sharing his toys with baby Amelia however, since she liked to put everything in her mouth and got them quite wet.
We spent a lot of time hanging out, catching up on our lives, eating good food, playing games and making our kids laugh and giggle.
We visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium on Sunday where Logan got to see lots of fishies and sea horses and jelly fish and sharks - BIG sharks mind you, that go RAWWWWWWR! Amelia had a great time as well. Callum ate and slept the entire time.
Come to think of it, he did that pretty much the entire weekend.
When we got home, Amelia practiced walking with Logan's old walker.
And we noticed Callum's feet (6 wks old) are almost as big as Amelia's (8 mths old!).
We had a fantastic long weekend with them and can't wait to see the Cables again soon.
When Jon got home with Logan yesterday evening, Logan was feeling a bit under the weather. So, he was in a more-than-usual cuddly mood, wanting to sit in the rocker with his Mommy. I had just gotten Callum to settle down and fall asleep, so he was still conked out on my chest. I told Logan to just climb up into the rocker and sit with us together - a picture perfect moment. Right?
Right.
Only, come to find out, Jon had taken my camera up to the city with him to show it off to a co-worker and LEFT IT UP AT THE OFFICE.
Complete husband fail.
What's worse, our good friends Eric and Jill (and their adorable daughter Amelia) were arriving that night to visit with us all weekend long. A weekend full of fun picture opportunities amongst the kids, no doubt.
ARGH.
I was annoyed, but what can you do?
It's going to be an iPhone picture weekend, I'm afraid.
Notice the collection of trains on my lap. Logan would not sit with me unless his trains accompanied us.
I just got a new app for my iPhone (called Hipstamatic) and I'm totally hooked! It's a neat little toy that gives your photos that ol' nostalgic analog feel we all grew up with (but that Logan and Baby #2 will never quite understand!).
I got totally carried away yesterday playing around with it, taking a ton of fun shots - the best $1.99 I've spent in a long time! ;-) Now the real catch is whether I SPLURGE and buy some more lenses and film types to play with.
Ohhhhh, the choices.
The following were taken using the Kodot Verichrome film with the John S Lens (which I think is probably my favorite pairing so far):
