Holding hands

The boys like to hold hands while we drive home from school each night. It's pretty damn cute! :)

To do: Enable child safety locks

Can you see this? This is my toddler, who just figured out last night that he can open the car door (making the indoor dome light turn on, which he loves).

While we were driving.

Small heart attack for Mom.

Big boys getting bigger

We have been borrowing the Snap n' Go stroller frame from the Jodoins for Callum these last few months, but because Jarrod's sister, Marissa, just had her baby (Nolan - a cutie pie!), it's time to pass it on. This is also where most of Callum's clothes (and Robert/Logan/Connor's!) will be going too. :)

So, we researched which new booster seat to buy for Logan, so that Callum could move up into the convertible car seat that Logan's been using for the past two years. They arrived last night and Jon and Logan were so excited about their new "toys" that they installed them right away.

Logan loves his new big boy car seat (although he wasn't into me taking a picture of him in it this morning). Bonus? Sippy cup holders on both sides!

Explanation

I've received several requests to explain what the heck happened with the car accident/pic I posted a few nights ago.

I guess I should first start off by saying no one got hurt and we're all fine. In fact, the boys and I weren't even with Jon when the accident happened, he was by himself. When I posted that pic, I was mostly doing it to tease Jon, since he's always bragged about how he's never been in a single accident (where he's driving anyway) himself. I didn't quite realize it could alarm folks into thinking any of us might be hurt! DUH. :)

So anyway - it's nothing major, the car actually looks worse off than the accident itself. Jon was pulling out of a parking lot and ran into another car while turning left. He didn't see her coming at all - there's a bit of a blind corner just before, and given how much damage her car and ours took, I think she was probably speeding around that corner. But, it doesn't really matter.

Jon called the cops just to be safe - they didn't write out a report, just checked to make sure both drivers were fine, told them to exchange insurance info, and go along their merry ways. Jon actually continued onto rugby practice after the accident - so that should tell you how much he was not injured at all!

Now we're just waiting to schedule a time to take the car into the shop to get it fixed. Thankfully, we have the two other cars so we don't really need to worry too much about it. But, since I'll be incapacitated for the next couple of weeks, we'll probably take the car in early tomorrow morning to get the work started and so I can help Jon with dropping the kids off at school, picking him up from the shop, etc.

Thanks to everyone for checking in and making sure we're all right! :)

Oopsie!

Daddy no longer holds an accident free record.

Seriously?

There's something wrong with this picture; especially when you consider Halloween costumes are on my mind and to-do list. I'm beginning to wonder if the costumes I chose will be too hot for the boys! :(

You've gotta have a great sense of humor to create something like this for your ad campaign. :)

Look Ma!

No roof, only the wind and trees!

Putting the top down

My dad recently bought his dream car (an SL500), something he's been talking about getting ever since I can remember.

Logan, of course, is in love with the new car (who wouldn't be??) and likes to sit in the front seat, push as many buttons as possible, all the while begging to "go!!". He loves having no roof and being able to look up at the trees (see next post/pic).

Maybe he can talk my dad into letting him drive it to prom in 17 yrs? ;-)

Indy 500 Eat Your Heart Out

We have this new "game" now, when we get home and park in the driveway.

It all started one day when Logan decided to leap out of his car seat onto the other side of the car so I couldn't reach him. Rather than fight it, I left him to drop everything off inside the house and let the dogs out.

I came back and didn't see Logan in the back seat which freaked me out for a split second. Then all of a sudden I see a patch of brown hair poking up from the window of the driver's seat. I peer inside and sure enough, Logan is all smiles - waving to me through the window, steering the wheel, pushing every button and flipping every switch in sight.

He absolutely loves it, and could probably spend hours in there. :) In fact, he throws a bucking fit when I finally need to tear him away. *sigh*

We're doing a "double date" with my parents tonight and getting a "real" (aka paid) sitter. Chinese takeout for dinner and Julie & Julia the movie. Should be fun! :)

Get down, get down!

What I was actually trying to capture was how Logan tucks his juice
cup on one side of his seat and his book on the other. So cute!

It just so happened he was also gettin' his groove on, singin' and
dancin' at the same time. ;)

Note to Self.

Don't let your son eat PB&J around the shiny new car.

That New Car Smell

Picked up the new wheels last night. What a fun sporty little car,
and with a lot of punch! Just what I need. ;)
