Pastries, chocolates and churches - oh my! 😱

We started the morning off with a chocolate tasting (walking) tour - because we clearly didn’t get enough, nor learn enough, about chocolate yesterday! πŸ˜‚ We explored the old market district, visiting a phenomenal pastry shop (Gosselin), which won best baguette of Paris! Their pastries weren’t too bad either (the boys loved their raspberry beignet the best I think). πŸ˜‰ We also visited three - yes THREE - amazing chocolatiers. By the end of the tour we were flying high on sugar and caffeine. Wowza.

After a short rest back at the flat, we headed back out for another great tour by Paris Muse - this time to tell us the stories found in the Notre Dame’s stone. The boys followed the stories and put together a number of puzzles with our friendly tour guide, to learn about the art and history behind this magnificent wonder. It’s truly amazing.

The boys (and mostly Callum) were shifting between patience and grumpiness from the long day, the endless walking, and the hot muggy weather. So, I quickly navigated us over to Berthillon, for a delicious late afternoon sweet. And whaddya know- all smiles once more! πŸ˜†

We took another walk back over to the Marais district to let off some steam (and sugar) in the Place des Vosges, where some local little kiddos stared and laaaaaaughed at the crazy rambunctious American boys, wrestling on the lawn. πŸ˜‰πŸ€·

Thank goodness we have a flat to retire to! We called it an early night tonight, bought some fresh baguettes and warmed up some leftover pasta for a relaxing meal at home.
